A day at the zoo

I took Miles to the zoo a couple of days ago. He had so much fun! He loved being outside and seeing some animals. He loved the elephants. I think we will have to get a zoo membership this summer so Miles and I can go alot. Miles' favorite things lately are balls, birds, bubbles, dogs, and "toot toots" (things that go)

Easter

Miles had a lot of fun this Easter. We were able to go to two Easter egg hunts and Miles had a great time. He loved running around looking for the eggs. At times he would get distracted by a ball or something else he wanted to play with, but for the most part he stayed focused on finding eggs. We hope you all had a lovely Easter Sunday.

Miles and his best friend

Miles loves playing with Oli. One of the first things he says when he wakes up is "daa, daa" meaning "dog". They are quite the pair. In fact, I have had to ban Oli from the kitchen during meal times because Miles always tries to sneak Oliver food instead of eating it himself. It's like they're running a little covert operation.
When Miles and I take Oli on walks, Miles always has to hold the leash. It's pretty cute.

YAY! I've been trying to post pics on here for a while, and it wasn't working. These are some recent pics of our little man...

Happy Valentine's Day!

A few pics that I got off of an iphone...

As previously mentioned, Miles can now climb up onto the piano bench all by himself. These are a couple pics of the little maestro in action.

Happy Valentine's Day!

The posts may be a bit...

...on the boring side for a while. We currently are camera-less, and we have been since Christmas when Miles accidentally dropped and broke our camera. I will try and post pics taken from other peoples cameras/phones.
Miles is doing well. He loves to read lately. (read=look at books) He'll come running up to me with a book, and let me read a few pages before he takes over and looks through the book on his own. It seems that his language skills are kicking in a little bit more. He also is a huge climber. He loves to climb on anything and everything that he can. He recently figured out how to get himself up on the kitchen chairs, and then onto the kitchen table, at which point he is promptly removed and place back on the floor. He also has started to walk up to the piano and get himself up on the bench to play little concerts.
As for news from Lamar and I, we traded our Honda Civic in yesterday for a Jeep Cherokee. Lamar is REALLY excited to have a Jeep again, and it will be nice to have a 4 wheel drive in this snowy weather.
Lamar also had his first day back in his Marine Corps uniform yesterday when he started his first day in the Reserves. I'm happy that Lamar will be able to have a little bit of the Marine Corps back in his life. He is still focused mainly on his new career, and he is doing a great job. He loves it!

Update

Miles has been feeling a little under the weather lately. He's had a little upset tummy. He still is in really good spirits, though. He has also been sprouting molars, but he's handling that well, too. What a trooper.

Miles seems to be getting closer to talking. He knows a few words : dog (daa...daaa), cheese ( ch...ch...), mama, dada, among others.

Miles is so funny and fun. He has some serious speed. He prefers to run from place to place as opposed to walking. Sometime he goes running by while swinging his arms around. I swear, that kid is some good entertainment!! He likes to sing karoake, too. It's hilarious because he'll babble into the microphone, then he'll walk up to the machine and play around with the buttons like he know what he's doing. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if he did know what he's doing. It's amazing how fast kids at this age learn. For example, he'll grab a kleenex and hold it to his nose like he's blowing it, or he'll take a q-tip and hold it up to his ear. It seems he sees us doing something once or a couple times and then picks it up.

Lamar and I feel so blessed to have Miles. He can be really active at times, but we are so happy that he is curious, healthy, and full of life. We wouldn't want to go even one day without him!
