A Great Surprise

We are so excited because we get to go see Lamar in just a few days!!! It turns out that Lamar got a couple days off, so he wanted me and the boys to come out. We can't wait - we'll get to be with Lamar on his birthday. Miles is really excited as well...he has been wanting his daddy to tickle him and play with him.

We'll take plenty of pictures of the trip. I did add a few more pics to the dropshots website. (Let me know if you don't have the web address)

The boys are doing well...Miles started his new preschool on Monday and is really loving it so far.He is such a sweet boy and such an amazing helper.

 Nico is eating a lot and growing really well. At his two week appointment, he weighed in at 9lb 3oz, so he has put on more than a pound. My sister Rachel had her little girl 10 days after Nicholas was born, and we have been having fun with the new little babies.

Welcome Sweet Baby!

Hey Everyone!

Last night we welcomed Nicholas ("Nico" for short) into the world. He was 38 weeks along at birth and weighed in at 8lbs 2 oz, 19 1/2 inches long. He has a full head of light brown hair (matches both Miles and I) and has been eating, pooping and peeing non stop since he was born. He's a very calm little guy and likes to "squeak" when he wants to eat.
He came quick, from start to finish, the labor was about 3 1/2 hours long. I didn't even have time to make it to the airport before he was here. Guess he was in some kind of hurry to get going. I flew in at about 1am this morning and came straight to the hospital. Sarah is doing very well. The epidural was at full strength when he came, so she lucked out and said that this birth was, " a lot easier" than Miles' birth.
Miles is thrilled to have a little brother. He calls Nicholas "baby brother" or "baby Nico". We've caught him several times trying to wake him up so that they can "play". We took Miles to Build a Bear a few weeks ago and he picked out a stuffed puppy with a surfer outfit to give Nico. He was very excited to give it to his little bro this morning.
Thank you everyone for your support and congratulations. We are absolutely thrilled to have Nicholas here and can't wait for him to meet everyone.

Family Day

Yesterday Lamar's company held a family day so all the families could get together and have some fun before the guys leave for training in California. We had a great time and I'm just so proud of Lamar, because I was approached on several occasions by different wives and told how happy they are that Lamar is in charge of the company.
They had yummy food, a rock wall, a bouncy house, one of the vehicles out for everyone to see, and some volunteers from Home Depot came to help the kids do projects.




This is Lamar and Miles with our friends Mark and kids Miles(yep, two Miles'!) and Evie. I'm so happy that Lamar will be serving with great men like Mark.

We have been very busy preparing for the upcoming deployment. On top of feeling very pregnant, I broke my ankle last month, and that slowed everything down for sure. Thankfully, my ankle is on the mend and will soon be just a memory.

Miles has been in swim lesson's and he is having fun with that. We start the third and final session today.

We will try our best to keep everyone up to date with the changes in our family.

I had forgotten about these pictures until I was looking through my camera the other day. We took them before Lamar left for Morocco. I was especially happy to find these pictures, we are missing our hubby/daddy! We have a picture of Miles and Lamar in Miles' bedroom, and every night we get the picture and give it a kiss and say "I love you Daddy, good night!". When it's my turn though, I say " I love you sweetheart". Miles picked up on that and now when he kisses the picture he says " I love you sweetheart". It sounds so funny and cute!

We went down to Zion National Park before Lamar had to leave to Morocco. (He is there currently, and will return early June) We love it there and we had such a great time!

Amazed

Lamar and I have been absolutely amazed at the outpouring of love and support that we have received over the past couple of weeks. So many friends, neighbors, church friends, and family members have reached out to us, offering us support as we prepare to enter this new and challenging chapter of our lives. We are profoundly grateful for all of the love that has been shown to us, and know that this support along with the continued help of our Father in Heaven will carry us through the hard times. We have been reminded of the innate goodness that people have. Thank you everyone!!! May the love and encouragement we have felt be passed on to you as we all face challenges that may arise...

Fun in the Afghan Sun

Hey everyone,

This is Lamar. I found out this last tuesday evening that my company will be called to go to afghanistan later this year. I'll be transferred to California this summer to undergo deployment training and then we'll be off to Afghanistan for a deployment. Sarah and I appreciate all the concern and support that has been shown to us in the past few days. I'll keep everyone posted as I find out more information on dates and schedules. Love you all!

Having Fun With Daddy

I have been trying to be better about picture taking lately, and my two favorite subjects are Lamar and Miles! Here they are reading a book together.


This past weekend we had the first swim of the season!! Miles had a great time and loves the water. I want to get him in swim lessons this summer.




Miles was hilarious flip-flopping around in his little flippers. He loves wearing them both inside and outside of the water.

By the way...still no news about Lamar. We'll update when we know something...hopefully that will be soon

More waiting...

Just a quick update...we are still waiting on the news concerning Lamar. We did learn that we won't find out anything until April 17th at the earliest. We'll be sure to let you know as soon as we have more information.

Finally...some pictures!

Thanks to a fun night at Tiffany and Mike's house, I finally have some pictures to post. I was hoping to get a really good picture of the kids, but that is easier said than done. Still, I got some cute ones I think. It was hilarious watching the kids play with Lamar, and Miles had so much fun playing with his little cousins. It was nice to see some family, including Brooklynn and her two little ones who were in town for a visit.
