Thankful

Lamar and I are thankful for so many things this holiday season.
Freedom - Love - Opportunity - Food & Shelter - Friends - Family - much more!
We celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday with family in the Seattle area...

I just love this picture of Jackson! It makes me smile every time I see it!

A little update

Sorry it has been a while since the last post, and that this post is one without pictures. I think the reason why I haven't posted in a while is that I haven't had any pictures to post...but I will try and take some soon.
Let's see...what's new around here?
We are still trying to get Miles used to the idea of using the potty. He does use it every once in a while, like this morning he went pee pee in the big potty three times! But for the most part, he still wears a diaper, which is ok for now.
Miles really loves to read lately. I'm glad that I have always loved children's books and had quite a collection going before Miles came along. Lamar particularly likes to read Dr. Seuss books to Miles.
Lamar is doing well...we've had a fun month celebrating Veteran's Day and the Marine Corps birthday. We threw Lamar a surprise party on Veteran's Day to honor him, and Lamar and I went to the birthday ball a little while ago and had a great time. Next year will be quite the event because Lamar will have a key role as he is now the Company Commander.
School is going well for me, I just really love it and am so happy I have this opportunity. Things are getting a little crazier as the semester is getting ready to wrap up in a couple weeks.
We are looking forward to a trip up to the Seattle area to see some of our family for the Thanksgiving holiday.
I'll work on getting some pictures... promise!

Halloween

Well...I have to say that I was pretty disappointed not to get any good picture of Miles in his costume. I challenged myself this year and decided to make his pirate costume myself. I think it turned out pretty well...for a first timer! I never could get Miles to hold still long enough to get a picture of his whole costume. He was always taking something off...and every time he saw me coming with the camera he would turn and run away! But here are some pics to give a general idea!
Miles had a GREAT time trick-or-treating. He was practically sprinting from house to house. I think a lot of it was that he was excited to be outside with a bunch of people, in the dark, running from house to house. I'm sure the candy was part of it, too!! Although his halloween candy has since mysteriously "disappeared".

A Fall Day at the Zoo

A couple days ago, I took Miles to the zoo. We had been wanting to go for quite some time, and it was really fun. It was a chilly day, which meant we had to bundle up. The nice thing was the zoo was pretty empty, so we didn't have to fight any crowds. Miles LOVED the little train. He was so excited. The picture just above is him patiently waiting for the train to go. Miles also loved the elephants, and the monkeys.

Weekend

So we had a great weekend...
I made a typo in the previous post about our niece Analesia, and her baptism. She actually turns 9 in a few days, not 8. What I meant was that she wanted to be baptized while she was still 8. (I have fixed the typo)
So yesterday was a great day for us. Lamar did a great job baptizing Analesia and my talk went well (I think ;) Analesia's father Brandon(married to my sister) is planning on getting baptized next month.
On Saturday morning, Lamar played football with Brandon and some friends. During the first play, Lamar broke his finger!! So he has a little metal brace on his wedding ring finger. Miles calls him "Iron Man".

Quick Update

I'm at school right now with a little bit of spare time, so I thought I'd post a little update. Miles is as fun as ever! Lamar and I are just so in love with that kid! I had been taking him with me to school for a couple hours on Tues. and Thurs. nights. They have a "lab school" right on campus. The lab school is used for students who are pursuing education or child development degrees. They also have full time teachers there. So taking Miles there has worked out really well. We were able to get him into the day program, so that means I now take him with me when I come to school on MWF. He LOVES going to school and seeing his teachers and playing with his friends.

Lamar is doing well. It seems like he is always busy with his job, the Marines, the HOA, or the Young Men he teaches in church. Although our lives are really busy at this point, we are really happy and know that our hard work will pay off someday!!

We have a very exciting weekend coming up. Our niece Analesia has decided to be baptized. She turns 9 on October 22, and wanted to be baptized before then, so Sunday is her big day! She asked me to speak and I was really honored. And she asked Lamar to baptize her! It was so sweet and Lamar is so excited. So we are really looking forward to that.

I will try and get some pics posted soon!!

Just Like Daddy

The other night after bath time, Miles noticed that Lamar had his towel wrapped around his waist. Miles didn't want to be wrapped all up in his towel, he wanted to wear his towel just like Daddy. It was pretty cute!
